Crumple - 11.5" w x 6.5" h
Created by Camila Burbuja in her ceramic workshop in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This series of ceramics was created during the quarantine, where the word "hold" or "delay" became the subject of everyday life. Delay, in its French roots, delaien, means to put off or postpone. Also, from the German root Leip: to stick, adhere, linger, or move more slowly. From this understanding, Delay has become the state of the matter: To stay, to be able to pause, and within that pause, to establish ourselves truly in time.
