A note from our owner.
Throughout the holiday season we’ve been getting many inquiries about when we plan to open back up again for in-store shopping, and the truth is: We aren’t! In fact, we’re actually moving out.
I signed the lease for our current space the same week the government declared its first state of emergency in March 2020 and what had intended to be a wedding studio quickly became a retail shop. During peak periods of isolation, running the shop gave me not only a routine, but a reason to leave my house every day and I cannot overstate how important that was. If I’m being honest, retail was never part of my long-term plan, and when things picked back up in the wedding world I felt overwhelmed managing both sides of the business; It just wasn’t a sustainable workload for one person to juggle without making massive sacrifices to my personal life. So it really felt like the stars were aligning when my landlord decided to raise my rent and put the building up for sale earlier this year. Time to reset and refocus!
As of the end of December 2022 we will no longer be offering daily flower deliveries. Rather, we will be doing monthly bouquet drops and subscriptions (more details to come) and a few select dates with the Toronto Flower Market. It’s time to put my whole heart back into events again.
One thing I can not stress enough: this is NOT sad news. After 3 years of pivoting, pivoting, and more pivoting, I cannot tell you how relieved I am to take some time off and breathe this winter! I sincerely mean it when I say that I truly appreciate everyone who went out of their way to support the shop (especially in the dark days of winter), subscribed to monthly flower orders, bought candles, or really anyone who popped into the shop (even just to say hi!). You all made it possible for Kenilworth to keep going for these past 3 years, and I’ll forever be grateful for that.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season! See you in 2023 🤙
